My Week with the Turkeri Cousins!

So you already know that I can't move into my room until the end of the week! This is the perfect chance to meet my family in Canada! So Ceylan abla and Huseyin abi have kindly taken me in for the week!..and so far its been wicked!! I've managed to meet family that i have never seen before and it seems like I've known them for ages!...but i suppose that shows our blood ties!

So whilst i've been here in Kitchener-Ontario, i've managed to taste and see quiet a lot! On the first day I arrived we went this cool restaurant called MooseWinkles which is 'Uniquely Canadian'. So what better way to start off my Canadian adventure with a Canadian burger!

It took about 20 minutes for me to eat that burger, it was massive NO JOKE!...and that's coming from someone who does not stop eating!.... A quick useful fact for you!-Moose can grow up to 8-10ft tall! (you never know when you might need it) The following pic is an indication of how tall Moose can be here in Canada!

They can get bigger than this!

The following day we went to one of the seven wonders of the world...you guessed it Niagara Falls!! Words can't describe how good this wonder is! My mouth and eyes were wide open the whole time i was there! Before I went, I heard that a student fell into the falls and died because she slipped off the rails, one word....idiot. When i got there, people were still standing or sitting on the rails, maybe i should of just pushed them over to save them the hassle haha! I could also see America from here which was cool. Oh and as i was walking along the falls, i overheard a Canadian man say- I Quote!

"Man i could never date a Chinese chick, imagine all the photos you would have to take"

Haha! i couldn't stop laughing, this was too funny!!! Anyway i think i should show you a pick of the falls!

 

It was wicked!!

I think the pictures say it all, it was so good! I may be going again with my uni which would be good as you could never get sick of this place! We also ate dinner and had the nicest ice-cream too! The following day we went to these gardens which were really nice, something you would never see in the middle of Birmingham city haha! oh and i had also seen a Chipmunk too!!

So later on i went for a bike ride with my cousins, sat a Starbucks and chilled near a pond. So far it has been a really good week and it keeps getting better! Canada is the bomb!

Do not underestimate Canada people! it is boiling hot out here in the Summer, 30 Degrees Celsius, it seriously is really hot and humid. Way better than the pathetic summer England provides EYYY ('Ey' being a canadian saying at the end of a sentence')

The House Hunt!

So after viewing the last houses, I continued to search for a room to rent. Now that i only had 2 days left at the hotel, i needed to get moving. Having arranged around 4 viewing for the next day, I only got to view two. Purely because the landlords didn't turn up, so i ended up hanging around outside the houses for about 15-20 minutes, whilst random people stared at me haha But it's all good! After viewing my first house, I knew i wanted to rent it straight away! Compared to what I've seen before, this was the best house I found. But i thought I will hold back till I've viewed the next houses. So I walked to the next property and the room was really nice!!! Big, spacious and it also had wardrobes. But then i noticed the doors were glass and right by the front door! Imagine the noise coming from that! So i ran back to the first house and told the landlords daughter, I WANT THIS! The room also comes with a desk, chair, set of draws, wardrobe and a futon. So the next day i paid, signed the lease and got my keys!!...panic over...I now have somewhere to Live!!!

So now that I have the room....I can't move in until next week...but that's alright because i dived straight into a red velvet cupcake from the local cupcake baker in WestDale! 

 Oh Ye it was good!

All i can say is Canada has treated me well so far! All in all Good Times all over!!!

I've arrived in Canada...My first 3 days!

Hotel room for 3 days!

I forgot that i wanted to create a blog so I'm a couple of days behind. So I've come to Canada to study abroad for a year at McMaster University (after finishing my 1st year at Lancaster University), in Hamilton it's about 35-40 minutes south of Toronto, so I'm hoping to go there quiet often. I'm also 40 minutes away from the Border to the USA, so hopefully i'll be able to cross over and visit! Anyway, the fight was good! we had TV's on the seats, so i finally got to watch Limitless! The Food was good. Although, the three seats directly in front of me were annoying! First the boy felt it was ok to pretend to cry just to get his own way. His sister was ok, she just watched Bollywood films all the way here, i only know this because i couldn't work my TV at the time, so i read the subtitles on her screen. Then All three seats were stretched so far back that my head was nearly touching their chair. So you know what that means, my seat went all the way back too haha! so i guess I've joined them in being annoying :D I arrived in Canada 2 hours late because of delays both in England and Brussels, but i eventually made it to the hotel! But there was no time to rest, as i now had to find accommodation! To cut a long story short, stopping off-campus had more advantages. So I phoned a landlord to arrange a viewing, it turned out that he offered to pick me up and show me the houses and rooms! Then panic settled in! the conversation went like this....!

First we walk into the house and everywhere is covered in dirt, the room is dark, a dirty sofa is positioned in the middle of the room, the kitchen looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a 5 years.

-Landlord: Your Lucky you have found this, there no many places left and this is really good deal, look loads of room everywhere, everything included! Cheap! No! (he was middle eastern)


-Me: Erm ye its really nice

-Landlord: Yes nice, if you want i clean it and give you somewhere to stay for 5 days too. Me show you other property yes?


-Me: Yes please (i got a bit happy at this point, as the next one might be good)

-Landlord: So this apartment is in basement! 


-Me: ohh (haha i wanted to leave but i thought i may as well see because after all he did bring me here)

-Landlord: Look very clean, this got 4 rooms, (points) one, two, three....(slight pause as he looks for the fourth) four (he points to the door right in front of our faces haha) let me show you. you see window, bed, everything) 

-Me: ohh yes that's good

-Landlord: Yes i do this for $350, you like?

-Me: Ye i'll let you know as soon as possible after i confirm it with my parents.

He then drops me back off at the hotel haha and you guessed i didn't ring back because it was a big Joke. I'm not going to stay in a prison cell with barely any light and dirt growing from the walls. Cya later Mate!
